Projects Managed by QDV in conjunction with Halliburton Energy Services

Halliburton Worldwide Limited – Iraq

Provision of energy professionals to Halliburton
Worldwide Limited – Iraq for their turnkey drilling project with Shell for the Majnoun Field (Drilling Supervisors, Night Drilling Supervisors, Materials and Logistics Coordinators)  and for their workover project with ENI for Zoubeir Field (WO Superintendent, WO Engineers, WO Supervisors, Materials and Logistics Coordinators).
HSE Supervisors/Trainers: At EOM’s for Quorna Field (Exxon Mobil Co.) request, training and coaching IDC
(National Iraqi drilling company) Personnel

Sonatrach (Algerian National Oil Company)

QDV coordinated a “Lead Contractor” project in conjunction with Halliburton Energy Services providing management services, engineering, HSE and rig-site management for a 2 year, two rig “semi-turnkey” drilling campaign.  The project budget was $180 million US.

At commencement of the contract, QDV/Halliburton  and Sonatrach agreed to drill, test and complete 17 wells.  At the completion of the established contract timeframe, 20 wells were drilled, tested, completed and delivered to Sonatrach.  Our performance was significantly better than our competitors; Schlumberger, Weatherford and BHI.

Sonatrach (Algerian National Oil Company)

QDV coordinated a “Project Management” project in conjunction with Halliburton Energy Services engineering, materials, logistics, HSE and rig-site management for a 3½ year, seven rig exploration and development drilling program in the Hassi Messaoud and Ahnet fields in Algeria.  Wells drilled included 3500m verticals and 4700m horizontals.  The project budget was $686 million US.

Sonatrach initially assigned the QDV/Halliburton Project Management Team 3 drilling rigs.  By the end of the Project the rig count had increased to 7 rigs with the 4 additional rigs being reassigned by Sonatrach to QDV/Halliburton from competitors Weatherford (2 rigs), Baker (1 rig) and Schlumberger (1 rig) due to superior performance by the QDV/Halliburton Team.

Core point was reached on the vertical wells in an average of 30 days.  TD was reached on the horizontal wells in an average of 45 days.

The QDV/Halliburton Team were drilling on the P20-P30 curve established by Sonatrach.  The competitors were performing in the P50-P70 range.

QDV personnel held 50% of the positions on the QDV/Halliburton Team including the Project Managers and Senior Drilling Supervisors.

Integrated Services Management for SONATRACH Divison Forage (12 Rigs)

Sonatrach Division Forage (SHDF) solicited QDV Inc to take over total management of twelve (12) drilling rigs working for SH Drilling Forage. SHDF requested a retenue a la source type of Company for this operation thus QDV-PM Inc was founded with the same principals as QDV Inc, a Delaware Company.

Under this project QDV- PM would be responsible for the Engineering, HSE, Well Supervision, Rig Supervision, cost control, and Materials & Logistics for these rigs and would run this project as an integrated service using the service contracts which SHDF already had in place with the various service suppliers. Project did not get final approval by SH CEO once all contracts terms were sorted and agreed on between both parties.

Sonatrach, Hess, Cepsa and Petronas

Project consisted of developing BMS oilfield close to the Tunisian border by drilling multiple production horizontal wells

Projects Managed by QDV principles.

Amerada Hess (Sonahess) QDV principles initiated the drilling and workover program for Amerada Hess in their expanded development of the El Gassi fields 110 kilometers south of Hassi Messaoud, Algeria.  During the peak of the development drilling operation QDV operated two drilling rigs, one heavy workover rig and one snubbing unit in the field. Production was increased from 26,000.00bbl/day to 65,000.00bbl/day.  QDV also managed the successful completion of the four well exploration/delineation campaign in Block 401C near the Algerian/Tunisian border.  Total project budgets were $465 million US.

Kerr-McGee  QDV principles were responsible for the well design and implementation of the ONT-1 exploration well located 908 kilometers by road southeast of Hassi Messaoud, Algeria near the Libyan/Tunisian border.  The well, although a dry hole, was drilled under the expected time and significantly under Kerr-McGee’s original budget

Niger Hunt Oil Co.QDV principles organized and supervised the logistics related to the mobilization and transport of all tubulars, mud products, and accessories related to the drilling equipment for the exploration campaign located in Niger. It involved, transferring the equipment (3000 tons) from the port of Oran, Algeria to site, in the Mangueni plateau, Niger. Terrain to be crossed : 1200 Km of black top, 1000 km of dirt and washboard road, 400 km of desert sand and dunes. Responsibility consisted also of coordinating with the various governments / military authorities due to the high crime rate in the area.

CEPSA QDV principles developed the RKF Field in Algeria (30,000.00bbl/day) from discovery through first oil production.  This was CEPSA’s initial E & P venture and as such, QDV was responsible for the drilling, facility construction, pipeline construction, road construction and selection of the production team.  The project was completed, although during a difficult climate in Algeria, on time and on budget ($165 million total budget).  The drill time to depth records established in 1994-95 in the RKF field have only recently been surpassed.

QDV principles also managed the ORD discovery and delineation drilling for CEPSA and subsequent « Orhoude » unitization process with Sonatrach, Anadarko and Burlington.

Orhoude production was at 240,000.00bbl/day.

During our tenure with CEPSA, members of the QDV Reservoir Management Team designed and installed the geosciences computer system, building the reservoir engineering staff and reorganized the E&P technical staff into an integrated asset team.  The Team prepared the field development plan and generating the miscible flood model for the successful extraction of oil and condensate.

Anadarko Petroleum –QDV principles provided the first personnel for Anadarko in Algeria to set up offices and begin their multi-well exploration drilling campaign.  The exploration campaign was extremely successful and Anadarko is currently the top producing International Oil Company in Algeria with Berkine and El Merk fields producing over 350,000.00bbl/day.
